Swans are creatures which have only one partner for their entire life. They mate with the same partner till the bond is broken either because of death or if any partner is preyed. Swans select a life mate about two-four years old, and they will swim together, head bob, blow in the water and sing during courtship time.
The trumpeter swan is found in North America. The heaviest living bird native to North America, it is also the largest extant species of waterfowl with a wingspan that may exceed 10 ft. It is the American counterpart and a close relative of the whooper swan of Eurasia, and even has been considered the same species by some authorities. By 1933, fewer than 70 wild trumpeters were known to exist, and extinction seemed imminent, until aerial surveys discovered a Pacific population of several thousand trumpeters around Alaska's Copper River. Careful reintroductions by wildlife agencies and the Trumpeter Swan Society gradually restored the North American wild population to...

My earliest memories are from my early childhood where I was drawn to art by a series of storybooks and each one contained pictures that someone had drawn. When I looked at them I knew that I wanted to do that one day and even before I picked up a pencil and tried I knew I could do it. I was drawn to Nature in those early years.
